ACTION PROGRAMMES
1. SUPPORT TO
COMMUNITY BASED IRRIGATION REHABILITATION
Project area :
Kishornagar Block of Angul District, Orissa.
Target groups : All
stakeholders.
Duration : 1 year.
Narrative
Description of the Project
The main aim of the
project is to provide continuous irrigation engineering
support to the water uses in selected minor irrigation schemes
in Orissa to ensure their irrigation schemes are capable of
delivery of irrigation water to all parts of the ayacut.
Besides the project aiming at:

Transfer of engineering technology to the farmers.
Handing over the responsibilities to users groups for
future operation & maintenance.
Interim agricultural practices through optimum use of land
and water resources. |

Capacity building of beneficiaries and ensured payment
system for future maintenance.

CURRENT ON GOING ACTIVITIES
3.1
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Project Area: India.
Target Area: Selected NGOs of
Orissa, Andra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhatishgarh, Maharastra and
Tamilnadu States of India.
Duration: 2 Years.
Narrative
Description of the project:
BROEDERLIJK DELEN (BD),
Belgium an International Donor Agency is supporting to NGOs in
India for Sustainable Development Programme. It hired the
consultancy of CART to assist and facilitate NGOs in
implementing the programmes in various parts of India.
Major
Assignments are
Establish BROEDERLIJK DELEN (Donor Agency) support service
office in India.
Monitoring and Evaluation of NGO programmes.
Facilitate NGOs in implementation of Community Based
Programmes.
Undertake pre-funding feasibility study / appraisal.
Contribute policy-development of BROEDERLIJK DELEN in India.
3.2 HEALTH
FOR ALL
Project Area : 50 Villages of
Daspalla Block, Orissa.
Target Population: Total
Population but priority is for women and disadvantaged
sections.
Duration: 3 years.
Narrative
Description of the Project
While the long term goal of the
project is to ensure “Health for all through Community Based
Management” but the present endeavor is addressed to tackle
the following specific problems:
Prevalence of endemic diseases.
High morbidity and mortality rate.
Malnutrition and poor health standard.
Major
Assignments are

Provide Health Services in Community level.
Periodic Health Check up.
Promote health services relating to safe motherhood and
Reproductive Child Health Care.
Train Community Health Volunteers for Primary Health
Care.
Establish Communication (information) system for
emergency services. |

3.3 SUSTAINABLE
LOCAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
Project Area : 10 Villages of
Phiringia Block, Orissa.
Target Population:
Economically backward classes with emphasis on women group.
Duration: 1 year.
Narrative
Description of the Project
The Project is planned to
promote the efficient use of existing Natural Resources and to
reconcile its management with the economic development for 10
villages of Phiringia Block, Orissa with focal emphasis on one
village.
Major
Assignments are

Construction of Water Harvesting Structure.
Training on Sustainable Agriculture.
Leadership Training.
Formation of women group and their involvement in Land
Based Activities.
Establishment of Community Based Agriculture Service

3.4 IMPACT
ASSESSMENT STUDY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT
Project Area : 04 Block 2
developed i.e. Rengali, Jujumura & 2 undeveloped i.e. Kuchinda,
Bamara containing 10 villages from each block total 40
villages of Sambalpur District, Orissa..
Target Population: 40
villages of Sambalpur District, Orissa..
Duration: 4 Months.
Narrative
Description of the Project
The Study is planned to assess
the impact of the programmes on productivity and poverty
alleviation and, in particular, whether the programmes have
contributed in increasing/improving production, employment and
living conditions of people below the poverty line. The study
is required to estimate the number of people who have crossed
the poverty line after availing of the assistance under
various programmes.
Major
Assignments are
Planning of Survey.
Data Collection & Analysis.
To examine whether the guidelines on various programmes are
being followed with reference to selection of beneficiaries,
utilization of funds allocated and transparency and
involvement of people in programme implementation.
To examine the survival of assets created, in particular
whether all the assets created under the schemes have
survived, are in use and cost effective.
To examine the role and functioning of the panchayat Raj
Institutions (PRIs) in the implementation of the programmes.

FIVE-YEAR PROSPECTIVE PLANS UNDER NATIONAL FOOD FOR WORK
PROGRAMME (NFFWP)
Project Area : 2 Districts of
Orissa (Balangir & Kalahandi).
Target Population: To assess
the impact of the programme on production, employment and
overall living condition of the people.
Duration: 6 Months.
Narrative
Description of the Project
The Study is planned to count
and consider no of assets created under the scheme. To examine
the survival of assets created, use, cost effectiveness and
fund allocation & To estimate the person days generated
through project interventions. To assess the impact of the
programme on production, employment and overall living
condition of the people. To find out the missing links and
offer suggestions of 2 district of Orissa i.e. Balangir &
Kalahandi.
